"May this Easter bring us optimism and strength, fostering hope for a brighter future in our families, our homeland, and the entire region," Duda emphasized in the video, posted on Sunday on the X platform.
Expressing gratitude for their contribution to Poland's heritage, Duda thanked Orthodox believers and wished them a holiday marked by mutual respect. First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, in turn, wished a family-oriented celebration.
Senate Speaker Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska conveyed hope, love, and mutual respect to all Orthodox faithful. She extended "special greetings" to Ukrainian and Belarusian refugees residing in Poland, urging them to find hope and peace amidst adversity.
The Polish Orthodox Church, which is administratively independent, estimates its faithful to number between 450,000 and 500,000. However, Statistics Poland's (GUS) data from the 2021 census reports a lower figure of around 151,700 adherents, a discrepancy acknowledged by the church hierarchy.
